Hey Stephane, take the train instead!

One has to wonder if the Liberals are even more afraid then even we think. Despite what Cherniak and his ilk think, it is not a good sign for the Liberals. They can spin it all they want, but it is not.

This forced Stephane Dion into "Plan B" to launch his campaign in a nice safe Liberal riding, and to head to one of the three last bastions of Liberal support, Montreal. I mean crap, if you are going to launch in Ottawa why the heck not go into Nepean—Carleton, Ottawa_West—Nepean, or Ottawa-Orléans? . Especially Ottawa_West—Nepean where that might help unseat an Conservative cabinet minister, or Ottawa-Orléans where the last election was very close. One that could be in play. Or maybe internal party polling is showing that David McGuinty isn't doing very well.

You can call it the highway 401 tour, but why? Admit it, you had trouble getting the plane, you have an old piece of crap plane from a small two bit operation. The only one you could get, or is that afford. You will even buy carbon credits to offset it, but hey, it will still pollute but I guess you can feel better about it all.

Question, will the purchase of these carbon credits go against your campaign cap? Hey, is your tour bus a bio-diesel?

You know, it would have been more environmentally friendly to take the Via train. You could go all along the 401. Perhaps they might even paint the train car for you? Maybe they could even call it Thomas for you! Wait, no. Thomas burns coal. Never mind then.

No one thinks it makes any sense to waste four days of a thirty seven day campaign doing this. Stephane Dion needs to head out to areas where he can build new support, not shore up existing support. It makes you look weak. Both the NDP and the Conservatives have made aggressive campaign launches, getting out of the gate strong. The Liberals have faltered and stumbled and can only spin spin spin.

Even Warren Kinsella has to wonder about this.

Of course Cherniak now seems to have doubts about Kinsella, and he wonders "what his game is...". Apparently Cherniak knows more then Warren, I mean. Warren has only run war rooms for Chretien and McGuinty, I am sure he knows nothing about campaigns, nothing at all.

We're better off with Harper.
