What the hell is going on in Toronto?!

In a repeat of the disgusting antics that first showed up during the abortive by-elections in Guelph, 25 Liberal supporter homes have been vandalized.

Like in Guelph, even brake lines were cut again.

This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, the destruction of private property, and the cutting of brake lines are clear attempts at voter intimidation. This intimidation has no place in Canada's democracy.

Everyone is Canada is entitled to their opinions, and to vote for whichever party they believe best represents their interests. No group has the right to try and change that opinion though acts of intimidation.

If you have any information on whomever perpetrated these crimes please call Toronto Police Services (416-808-2222) or Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).

I also call on bloggers and readers alike to denounce these acts through the comments on this blog or posts on your own blog.

These acts are absolutely unacceptable, they do not represent my values and have no place in political discourse.

I highly doubt it was conservatives doing this as they have the most to lose. NDPer's in tight races with liberals might as some of their friends are crazy. But, who really gains? The LPC itself that is who. (real conservative)

Absolutely criminal. Hope they catch who ever is doing it.

This destruction is simply an extension of the politics of fear that has become the staple of all the parties in Canada. All of the parties are guilty of it. The whole mantra seems to be to avoid talking policies unless absolutely necessary and, if you have to, spew them out with overbloated hyperbole warning voters that if they don't support you plan they are doomed. Whenever possible, try your damnedest to warn the public that your opponent is the devil incarnate and a vote for him/her is a vote for destruction and ruin.
Politicians pander to this type of nonsense and then they all act so shocked when they reap what they have sown.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: politicians are just one small notch above child molesters on the scumbag scale.

It is unfortunate that elections have to be like this.

That is the point AC; they don't HAVE to be.

No way was this any sort of organized effort by any of the parties. None would ever take such stupid risk. Regarding the CPC specifically, what would they really hope to achieve by intimidating Liberal voters in Toronto ridings they don't have a hope of winning anyway?

This is likely just some individual nutjob with an axe to grind. Hell, it may be some crazed guy with a personal beef against one person, who targeted several people to make it look like some sort political pattern just to throw off the authorities. There are a lot of sick people out there.

wilson, I noticed that too. I thought it was odd, but some people are none too bright, like vandal's for instance.

Anyone want to place bets that the vandals will be caught?

My immediate suspicion was that the Liberals did it to themselves. This is just too despicable to imagine an opponent being responsible for, particularly as it is more likely to help rather than hurt the Bennett campaign.

Bennett should have a stranglehold on the riding given her margin of victory last election. Nonetheless, I think she is running scared.

Dr. Roy noted that Bennett broke the rules by distributing her House of Commons newsletter after the writ was dropped. I can vouch for it, since I live in the riding and received it. Moreover, the content itself was virtually indistinguishable from election literature.

I have been out canvassing for Heather Jewell in the riding. It was discouraging at first, but lately people seem to be more receptive, though the chilliest responses seem concentrated in some of the richest neighbourhoods.

But there is hope: the Conservative message seems to be getting through. Blue signs have been sprouting in my decidedly downscale neighbourhood in the last week.

How quickly Canadians forgot about the last Election scam by a Liberal in the Parkdale High park riding.

Just do a google search for the 2006 Election when Liberals feared that Harper would end the reign of the Thieves that robbed us to finance Elections with Cash in envelopes while Klink and Sgt.Schultz were in Power in Ottawa.

Liberal M.P. Sarmet Bulte fabricated a "Fire-bombing" of her home by the Pro-Life fundamentalists ( Liberal-speak for "Christians" since Martin and Chretien aren't Christians but merely Catholic's that are Pro-Abortion and Pro-Same Gender marriage ) as she stated to the media and on a TV show.
When pressed for details , M.P. Bulte finally hinted at the FACTS that the May 24 holiday caused the damage to the roof of her home from stray fire-works .
Oddly enough , the 13 other homes hit with Fire-works according the the TFD never bothered to call the RCMP or media to blame the damage on Pro-Life Christians Terrorists.

If only Carolyn Bennett had shown an equal level of outrage over the AdScam since there is still $140'000'000.00 of OUR tax dollars un-accounted for and may never be traced to the criminals who should be put away for a long time.

BTW, The first clue in this hoax was the cut Brake-lines because as a ex-Mechanic there is no way you could have not noticed a pool of oil under the car or that fact that the Brake pedal would go right to the floor with little resistance.
The Dual Master-cylinder became the Law in 1967 but it only split the System in two so there would be an Emergency back-up if one failed, so if the Lines were cut as a Liberal scam to blame it on Harper I would bet you the scam-artists chose the Rear-Lines that only handle about 20% of the stopping power so the driver wouldn't be hurt.

Innocent until proven a Non-Liberal .
