Tories look to win at least 129 seats

Counting the projected and leaning ridings as projected here, I get 116 (plus or minus a couple) ridings in the win column.

This is a far cry from a majority. It looks like we will get the status quo.
  • BC - 21
  • Albert - 27
  • Sask - 13
  • Manitoba - 8
  • Ontario - 47
  • Quebec - 6
  • NB - 3
  • NS - 3
  • NFLD - 1

Starting to look like 300 million down the drain with nothing to show for it, of course the final poll has yet to come.

You forgot Saskatchewan! Last election 13 Conservative seats. I suspect 10 to 13 seats this time. So 126 to 129 on the calculations you prepared here. Unless you have polls showing no seats from Saskatchewan. Or maybe Elections Canada shut down the polls here.

This one was updated today, cons 121 and 26 seats too close to call.

This one show each riding, having Orchard not winning. haha

Across BC/Ab/Sask/Man
Libs total 10 seats and 5 of them are too close to call.

Can you imagine a Liberals minority government with only 5-10 seats out of 308, representing all of the 4 Western provinces....

BC 6 -3 too close to call
Ab 0
Sask 1
man 3- 2 too close to call

Mr. Unity would have quit a western revolt on his hands.
And this will also become a big factor in a coalition government.

Dont worry everyone forgets about sask, I am actually live in gooddale's riding and the ppl in south regina vote for gooddale the man not the liberal party, that is the only reason he wins every time.

UBC election stock market has us currently at 131 seats. As a conservative I trust the markets :)

I cannot believe I passed over Sask! Oh the shame!

I forgot the rest of the west!

This has been fixed :)

I suspect the strategic purpose in this election was to drain the coffers of the other political parties and then have another election within 18 months or less.

With the Liberals drowning in debt and probably in the midst of or recovering from a leadership campaign and the other parties struggling along on their Elections Canada handouts, their campaigns in 2009/2010 will be mere shadows of what we saw this time.

Of course the MSM still has plenty of funds to throw into the fray for the "progressives", but we defeat an enemy coalition one link at a time.

I can't vote for any of the main party's
I'm a 3rd generation right wing conservative voter, with a fair size family, no one here will vote conservative either.
I will be voting Christan heritage for two main reasons
1)We just gave 25 billion 1 8th of the overall Canadian budget to the banks. The same banks that gouged us for years, and made so many billions of profit year after year.
2) Henry Morgentaler received the order of Canada. This butchers only claim to fame was the amount of babies he murdered. I really don't care about your position on the abortion debate, but at least you could agree there are far more deserving Canadians.

We didn't 'give' the banks anything. Harper and Flarehty both explained the transaction. The Canadian government bought 25 billion dollars in assets from Canadian banks, so that the banks would have more liquidity.. That means the government is getting 25 billion dollars worth of mortgages, loans, etc in exchange for the money. The net result is that the banks have more money to lend out to individuals and businesses to keep our econony strong. The federal government can't lose in this because the mortgages can be sold to get the money back. IT IS NOT A BAILOUT like the liberal, ndp and green party has claimed.

It is a positive action to ensure that our banks and thus our economy remain strong in this time of economic uncertainty.
Stephen Harper should be applauded for it, not attacked.

And Peter, the Conservatives have no say in who receives the order of Canada, as nominees are chosen from a panel that includes former recipients, and is ultimately the call of the GG

Kursk, I understand that there's a committee which vets candidates whose names are put forward. It's their decision to approve or diapprove the selections and not the GG. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Appointees into the order are selected by an advisory board and formally inducted by the Governor General.

Anne, if you vote CHP you will only splinter the right and allow a Liberal to get into power.
