The Liberal Party of Canada is comprised of sniveling, conniving, cowards. Remember, in the last session of Parliament they abstained, were absent, or had most of their party missing 43 times. They didn't have the courage of their convictions then, they didn't have the courage to face voters then, and they don't have the courage to face voters now.
That's right, they lost the election but feel they are right. They say 62% of Canadians are behind them despite polls not supporting that. They don't have the courage to take their coalition to the people, the people they claim to have a mandate from.
The Liberals are Cowards.
(And yes I am aware of the irony of having an anonymous blog. But, I am not claiming to represent the people of this great country in order to take control.)

Rain,
Can you tell me what you'd say to people who say that the Alliance attempted a coalition with the Bloc in 2000? Apparently, there is a letter or something to that effect that says they were indeed forming a coalition. I don't believe it.
And what about this nonsense about voting with the Bloc -- I mean, isn't voting for or against part of the system? What a desperate logic for the Liberals to use.
I have no idea about this alleged coalition between the Alliance and the Bloc. I would like to see proof of that.
It wouldn't change my opinion anyway. I am not against coalitions per se, but I am against them when they are imposed after the fact.
Sign your coalition, then campaign on it. See if Canadians would support it.
'Can you tell me what you'd say to people who say that the Alliance attempted a coalition with the Bloc in 2000?'
The Bloc are democraticaly elected by Quebecers.
As a legitimate party, they consult with all other parliamentarians.
At no time, did the leader of the Alliance, nor the leader of the CPC meet in secret,
draw up a formal agreement for their support.
Duceppe was asked outside parliament.
Layton walked out of the meeting because he could not secure with the Conservatives what he did secure with the Liberals, seats in the Cabinet and a 50/50 share in writing up the budget.
If you don't see the difference, it is because you do not want to, anon.
Thank you Wilson -- actually, I'm asking a question, not taking sides.
I just wanted to know the story behind the story since it was brought up repeatedly today by Gilles Duceppe in Question Period.
Thanks again.
What would an agreement with the BLOC had accomplished in 2000 - Chretien had unfettered bully control with I think 170 seats in parliament.
The opposition had no voice and no power for anything done to us by the Liberals for 13 years.
Day lied about his attempt at an accord with BQ.
Harper lied about Canadian flags not being present at Coalition signing ceremony.
Harper lied about his attempt at a coalition with the BQ.
Harper recorded a opposition caucus meeting.
Harper uses a major economic crisis as a chance to crush opposition.
The question isn't why does any one support the coalition. The question is why doesn't everyone?
Albertan, you're right, there was a flag there. Two, both off to the sides.
Usually when the Leader of the opposition and other party leaders (minus the Bloc) talk the media there is a whole row of Canadian flags behind. And if not Canadian flags, then Canadian flags and the provincial/territory flags.
