Hudak Emerges Victorious

I believe Tim Hudak emerged victorious in the debates! And it seems the poll at CTV Ottawa agrees. At least at the time of this blog post writing :)

Unfortunately, I don't believe it was a knockout for Mr. Hudak. He wins on points, but I am not sure he connected enough with voters to swing the electorate firmly in his camp. Andrea Horvath exceeded expectations tonight.

Tell me, what did like and dislike from the leaders debate?

I disliked how the two women continued to misrepresent Hudak's position on the job cuts he will make. He made it clear it will be by retirement, attrition and contracting out over a period time, yet they continued to misrepresent the facts which too often is believed by the voters. IMO he should have been more aggressive at correcting them throughout the debate.

I skipped it, they aren't running to be face off against other world leaders so podium performance matters alot less than policy platforms.

Provincial politics matter more economically as it has less to do with foreign policy or diplomacy.

So even when Hudak makes a common misspeak or gaffe by tripping over a word awkwardly but equally comical, I shrug. When he is on top of his game he does phenomenally. He also addresses the issues when he isn't having to repeat himself for the sake of media edited sound bites.

Horwrath is all about optics, I noticed she comes off very photogenic in virtually all pictures of her, and it is no mistake. It's to make them appear "viable" in other jurisdictions too.
That is why we should get after them over minimum wage Price Controls and how its the worst policy, ever, literally. They can't fight for it, its a terrible measure that should be steadily phased out and finally abolished.

I make sure to mention it anytime I can.
