Iggy stokes Anti-Americanism

It appears that Iggy is looking to stoke some anti-American sentiment to bolster his fortunes, a typical Liberal move.

Ignatieff slammed Prime Minister Stephen Harper for his speaking engagements in the United States, particularly his upcoming appearance on Fox News. “He should be talking to Canadians.”

Now I wonder why Iggy would slam -- in particular -- Harper's appearance on Fox News? Oh, to try and capitalize on some anti-American feelings stoked by that piss poor attempt at "humour" on "Red Eye".

Of course Iggy also conveniently skips over Harper's interviews on Radio-Canada and CTV. An inconvenient truth indeed.

The Liberals and the MSM do feed off each other. Both report half-truths and outright falsehoods. And that is not counting outright conjecture reported as fact in that disgusting Canadian Press article from a day or two ago.

It's part of a strategy to limit Harper's Canadian interrogations -- where the questions tilt toward the specifics of Canada's troubled domestic economy -- in favour of foreign media who can be expected to compare this country favourably to its international partners.

You will see that there is no so called expert or even commentator associated with that section, it is merely the "reporter" providing commentary in a news section. Disgusting tabloid reporting. It is pure opinion and belongs in the opinion section of the site and not in the news section.

WRONG. IT is Harper who is consistently indulging in convenient anti-americanism. Witness his comments to closed door meeting of CDN neocons at Manning Centre.

Ignatieff consistently says US is best friend and ally, and criticizes Harper's US bashing.

Funny thing, on QP today all (jane said nothing) defended PMSHs taking his message to the US media.
Oliver said 'Harper IS speaking to Canadians'.

PMSH is against ANY tax increases, a policy difference from Iffy and O's plan,
and he said so.
Hardly US bashing anon, unless Iffy is running for the US Senate or something!

Ignatieff needed his 15 second sound bite to counter PM Harper's interviews to major media in both the US and Canada. The PM has so outmaneuvered the Liberals on this one. Ignatieff is grasping and whining about the exposure of the PM on the world stage. Wasn't he at a townhall meeting in BC someplace? Wonder how much international coverage there was on his meet and greet of fellow Liberals? Perhaps the CBC is available, I noticed it wasn't on the Prime Minister's list of interview engagements. Ignatieff is really going to be grousing - it'll be G20 anarchists, top level economic negotiations in London (where our PM will be featured prominently) and of course Brian Mulroney all week. Hard to get the Liberal message through all that media frenzy. Even the flooding of the Red River will be ahead of Ignatieff and whatever messaging he is trying to achieve.

Did Warren change his last name to "Anonymous"?

Anon@2:07? What are you talking about?

My main point is that Iggy is making a big deal about talking to the media. Especially Fox News, after that whole event. That is a dig at Fox News, as in only stupid Americans and neo-con Canadians watch that.

The bias in that article is evident in the headline.
Had Harper said that he doesn't want to give money to the auto sector as Iggy did, every union local across Canada would be organizing protest marches and the CBC would be running the headline "PM refuses to assist auto sector" 24/7.
Iggy just crossed the line.
Iggy is just another pandering liberal.
Whats next, a promise to eliminate the not with standing clause?
