This is being proud to be gay?!?!

I call this indecent exposure!

I wasn't there, but the first Google search for Pride 2009 pictures yielded me these shocking examples. I wonder if these proud people were arrested for indecent exposure?

I mean, what the hell is this? I sure hope they are wearing sun screen.

If those pictures were shown in a movie, it would be R rated. This is a double standard plain and simple.

Pride 2009 tries to make this event a family friendly event!

Family Pride celebrates Pride Week 2009 with a rich and exciting line-up of events for everyone in the family on Saturday June 27 and Sunday June 28 from 11am - 6pm.

Family friendly?!

Let's look at these pictures again! How can any responsible person take their children to this parade? There is nothing wrong with the naked human body per se, but I don't won't my children to be exposed to a stranger's naked body as they walk down the street. You want to walk around naked in your house, go for it.

This is awful, plain and simple.

It is time to take back our country, if you don't want filth like the above displayed for all to see during a parade then you had better donate your time or money to a party that will fight to prevent this sort of despicable display, a party that will fight for real honest to god family values. For me, today, this is the Conservative Party of Canada.

Their is nothing wrong with being gay. There is nothing wrong with gays and lesbians marrying. I mean, why can't they be just as frustrated and unhappily married as the rest of us heterosexuals.

There is however something wrong with parading through downtown Toronto naked, and getting away with it because you are gay, or celebrating gay pride week.

This whole event sickens me, but of course you know our favourite kooks were in attendance during this parade, that's right, Jack, Olivia, and Lizzy. Standing up for real Canadian values it seems. I know I gather my family around the kitchen table discussing real issues like: "Why the hell can't people parade down the streets of Ontario's capital naked?" Way more pressing then actual issues like how to make the streets safer, or how to re-jig the EI system so that it is fair and transparent for everyone across all the regions of Canada, or even how to not bankrupt Canada via stimulus spending.

Now somehow, I, or the Conservative Party will be made out to be bigoted and racist, pricks that have a big hate on for gays and lesbians, and nothing could be further from the truth. I have no problem with gay pride week, I have a problem with naked men regardless of orientation parading through downtown Toronto.

No, it isn't being proud to be gay. It's called exhibitionism and once you're over forty it can be extremely painful to behold!

Hey, is that Gwynne Dyer in the first picture?!

Unfortunately, people come to see the circus, and leave with pictures of the clowns. Like a car accident, people just have to slow down and gawk. It actually degrades the cause.

I personally don't care to see any parade that allows nudity no matter what the cause, recently a bunch of econuts posed nude to promote their cause.

All I can say is they were no playboys/girls

By all means have a parade, but please put some clothes on.

If Gay Pride is about gaining acceptance and respect for your lifestyle, how does showing such disrespect to everyone else help you?

Do you really think children need to see you do the helicopter down main street?

Well, if Layton and Iffy were REAL supporters, they would have marched in the nude!
Come on you two...take it all off!!!
show us you really really care...

Are you guys retarded? If you're worried about your children's innocence being corrupted, take your noses out of the Internet porn patch long enough to take a look at the sexualization of children that's taking place all over. Do something about that, you moralizing prudes.

Anon, I do. I don't let my kids dress like little hookers, and I don't buy toys for them that support this trend (ie bratz).

I agree that the sexualization of children is wrong, but this and naked people at gay pride are two separate issues.

Aye, but there's the rub..Conservatives introduce many bills designed to help protect children (raising age of sexual consent, luring laws, stiffer sentences for pedophiles, etc..) but they are shot down consistently, and are dragged out and watered down by the very people who think parading around with your d*ck hanging out is somehow liberating and cause advancing..

..because nothing says you have arrived politically like a 70 year old naked man being ridden like a pony by an ass less chapped leather man.

For those who call some prudish, let's see your reaction if a hetero sexual couple were having sex on your front lawn in broad daylight.I am sure you would be ok with that, right?

It's still not yielding the images you managed to ferret out. I guess you're more skilled at sniffing out the Internet porn.

Degenerate.

Well Anon@12:44 I guess you are just slow. It's the second search result, view the slide show.

I can't help that you are a little slow and don't know how to use the Internet.

And since you called it porn, I have to wonder if you even know what porn is.

And who said Internet porn is wrong? As long as it is shielded from minors I don't care what you view at home. Personally, I don't want to spend that kind of money on porn, but hey, to each their own.

Sure enough, those pictures are in that slide show.

I'm not sure exactly what it is that Kursk and company want to argue here -- that gay pride paraders are above the law?

So, it's been pointed out to Ti-Guy that these photos are actually alarmingly public.

Anyone care to wager a guess as to what his response to that was?

Notified Stephen Taylor of the actionable content on this blog.

I sincerely hope that this pictures and the one of Mr. America and his other cronies will be used in the next election campaign. I think this whole thing is so disgusting that I have no words for it. The Libs must be desperate to condone such behavior.

I have deleted some of the comments that were descriminatory and derogatory.

Let's refrain from calling people perverts because of their sexual orientation shall we?

For those of you posting comments whose sole purpose is to rage about homosexuals, or some sort of "homosexual" conspiracy please take you comments elsewhere. I do not want them on my blog.

Edmonton activists protest corporate Pride
ALBERTA / Queer Recruitment Army recreates the city's first Pride march
Ted Kerr / National / Tuesday, June 30, 2009

SOMETHING CORPORATE. Edmonton's Queer Recruitment Army formed after the Edmonton Pride Parade was renamed the TD Canada Trust Parade.
(Ted Kerr photo)
On Jun 28, the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York City, a group of Edmonton-based queer activists recreated their city's first Pride march, hoping to reclaim the spirit of Stonewall.

The Queer Recruitment Army, along with 40 other people, marched the original Edmonton Pride route from Corbett Hall on the University of Alberta campus, down 10 blocks along Whyte Ave, a popular strip on the city's south side that has become gentrified since the original march in the summer of 1981. As they made their way on foot and bikes, they handed out flyers that read, "Stonewall Liberation! Resist! Revolt! Celebrate!" while chanting slogans such as "Say No to Bigotry, Yes to Diversity."

In a statement released to gay media outlets the group indicated that, "In reclaiming the spirit of the Stonewall rebellion, the Queer Recruitment Army (QRA) will also be taking a stand against the increasing commercialization of Pride."

The march ended with the group gathering in a green space just off of Whyte Ave where posters were set up so that marchers could write what Pride means to them.

This was the QRA's second action. Carrying signs that read "My Pride is Not for Sale" and "Stonewall was not sponsored by TD," the QRA first made their presence known June 12 when they marched in Edmonton's Pride Parade protesting the renaming and branding of the event as the TD Canada Trust Pride Parade....

"In fact the modern gay movement and the whole rainbow flag thing really seems only to serve the most normative of homosexuals — out, white, gay American or European able-bodied men between the ages of 18 to 50," says Mitchell.

Formed, as Mitchell explains, "in a very sort of knee-jerk response to the term TD Canada Trust Pride Parade" the QRA will now be meeting often to discuss and act on issues facing various queer communities. Aiming to represent more diverse queer communities, Mitchell explains the goals of the QRA and why it was formed.

"For the past 50 years or so, many gay activists, by in large, have continued to fight for mainstream acceptance by comparing gayness to straightness — that is, monogamous people struggling for the right to marry and raise families, look and act normal, occupy a certain position in consumerist society, etcetera. And this has been a very successful tactic, but at what cost? Who gets left behind, and who is further marginalized?"

They're "getting away with it" because no actual crime was committed.
For those on the right who take Joe Warmington's columns in the Sun as gospel, you should know that it isn't illegal to be nude in public.
There's a good discussion here:

So, enough of the family values (circa 1896) crap, okay?
