Norman Spector has it right on the money. He does however have the title wrong. His post should be titled "What the Liberals know we have forgotten".

The Liberals know all about cover-ups:
- Prorogation over ad-scam
- Shutting down an inquiry over the Somilia affair

Now the Liberals are launching their small and petty attack ad campaign. Yet another broken promise by Iggy to not "go negative".

Petty because this "Afghan scandal" isn't much of a scandal, few Canadians cared about it prior to the prorogation. The campaign offers nothing new, no new ideas or policies, just a petty partisan attack.

Small because the poverty-stricken Liberal Party of Canada can't afford to launch TV ads, only radio ads. There is also question as to how much air time they will actually get. Of course, the launching of the ad-campaign will get lots of TV time, and hence some free advertising for the poor Liberals.

Further more, I still don't see how the Liberals can claim that they are not attacking the troops with this line of attack. By saying that the government is complicit in torture, they implicitly tar the soldiers that handed them over. Following orders is not a defense against war crimes.

The Liberals are small and petty. They are poor and decrepit, they were on the ropes -- financially and electorally, and the Harper brain trust goes and throws them a bone with a prorogation that can be spun all kinds of negative ways.

This will rank right up there with the fiscal updates as a tactical and strategic mistake in the history books.

What's next, boycotting Remembrance Day?!

Once again, the Opposition parties have shown how out of touch they really are. How petty, how mean, and how disgusting they are. They claim the high ground, they claim (with some reason) that the Conservatives are mean spirited and petty. And then they go and boycott the non-partisan ceremony yesterday marking the 20th anniversary of the Dec. 6 l'Ecole Polytechnique massacre.


They claim it is because they can't stand beside a Minister that represents a government that has "rolled back the fight for women's equality and safety". They specifically argue that the Conservative policies of abolishing the gun registry, and the reduction in budget to the Status of Women program.

It is of course all a crock.

Liberal and NDP MPs voted with the government to abolish the gun registry. Does this mean the Liberals and the NDP are anti-women? The gun registry would do nothing to protect women in an event.

The reduction of funding to the Status of Women program was not a reduction in funding to women's programs in general. In fact, the Conservative Government took that 5 million from the SoW, and an an additional 5 million and put that into other women's programs that are aimed at directly serving women, such as a programs aimed at integrating immigrant women in major cities.

The odd thing is that 14 parlimentarians and staff including NDP MP Libby Davis, and Liberal MP Judy Sgro placed white roses in vase to represent the 14 women gunned down that fateful day. No Bloc MP bothered to show up at all.

Simply disgusting politics, I am sure somehow Warren and others will blame the Conservatives for this.

Warren Kinsella is blaming the Prime Minster Stephen Harper for a Bloc MP voting in the House today to protect the gun registry? Warren, are you actually blaming PMSH for a lack of common sense from a Bloc MP? Lame.

Oh, perhaps that Bloc MP had no idea that the vote would be the blow out that it was. After all, at the end of the day, his vote didn't make a difference. Perhaps the Tories knew it was going to be a blow out, and hence just wanted to say their entire party supported it.

Here is an idea, perhaps one of the Liberals voting to scrap the gun registry could have stayed home instead?

And then this post about extra and unneeded portions of the vaccination being exported.


Here is a possibility Warren, to help other countries? You know, actually be the generous, world citizens that Liberals pretend to be? But no, Warren believes he is entitled to his entitlements, and would rather stockpile antigen that they can't be used instead of actually exporting it to countries that can use it.

Hopefully you will soon be muzzled, as you are way out of line these days. Go back to being thoughtful, and full of ideas like you used to be a few years ago. I enjoyed that Warren.

Liberals - Entitled to their Entitlements

In years past, at least Liberal entitlements were just our tax dollars, and not (potentially) the lives of our children and loved ones.

How pathetic of a person do you have be to act like this? She is practically wetting her pants in fear, only thinking of herself.

I am so glad she is thinking of herself, while my wife and children get turned away daily at the clinics no matter how early she gets there.

I wasn't there, but the first Google search for Pride 2009 pictures yielded me these shocking examples. I wonder if these proud people were arrested for indecent exposure?

I mean, what the hell is this? I sure hope they are wearing sun screen.

If those pictures were shown in a movie, it would be R rated. This is a double standard plain and simple.

Let's look at these pictures again! How can any responsible person take their children to this parade? There is nothing wrong with the naked human body per se, but I don't won't my children to be exposed to a stranger's naked body as they walk down the street. You want to walk around naked in your house, go for it.

This is awful, plain and simple.

It is time to take back our country, if you don't want filth like the above displayed for all to see during a parade then you had better donate your time or money to a party that will fight to prevent this sort of despicable display, a party that will fight for real honest to god family values. For me, today, this is the Conservative Party of Canada.

Their is nothing wrong with being gay. There is nothing wrong with gays and lesbians marrying. I mean, why can't they be just as frustrated and unhappily married as the rest of us heterosexuals.

There is however something wrong with parading through downtown Toronto naked, and getting away with it because you are gay, or celebrating gay pride week.

This whole event sickens me, but of course you know our favourite kooks were in attendance during this parade, that's right, Jack, Olivia, and Lizzy. Standing up for real Canadian values it seems. I know I gather my family around the kitchen table discussing real issues like: "Why the hell can't people parade down the streets of Ontario's capital naked?" Way more pressing then actual issues like how to make the streets safer, or how to re-jig the EI system so that it is fair and transparent for everyone across all the regions of Canada, or even how to not bankrupt Canada via stimulus spending.

Now somehow, I, or the Conservative Party will be made out to be bigoted and racist, pricks that have a big hate on for gays and lesbians, and nothing could be further from the truth. I have no problem with gay pride week, I have a problem with naked men regardless of orientation parading through downtown Toronto.

Fox News' Red Eye decides to spend an entire segment mocking and bashing the CF. Their commentators are so ignorant they don't even know that Canada has had soldiers in Afghanistan for close 8 years now.



Of course they commentators and host are free to say anything they like, free to mock us, belittle people's names etc. They have freedom of speech. I suggest we talk back with our dollars. If you have a subscription to Fox News, cancel it. Send letters to their advertisers, wage a media war, protest or whatever. We don't need to accept this.

And people wonder why Fox News is mocked as being so stupid and uninformed.

What the hell is going on in Toronto?!

In a repeat of the disgusting antics that first showed up during the abortive by-elections in Guelph, 25 Liberal supporter homes have been vandalized.

Like in Guelph, even brake lines were cut again.

This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, the destruction of private property, and the cutting of brake lines are clear attempts at voter intimidation. This intimidation has no place in Canada's democracy.

Everyone is Canada is entitled to their opinions, and to vote for whichever party they believe best represents their interests. No group has the right to try and change that opinion though acts of intimidation.

Leadership via name calling, Dion's way

Sitting Liberal MP Yasmin Ratansi declares that Stephen Harper "does not really like 52% of the population".

I guess by extension then that Stephen Harper doesn't like his wife or daughter! This comment is gutter politics of the worse kind. It is simply not true, having a woman say it doesn't make it any better either.

Liberal MP Ratansi must immediately apologize for that uncalled for remark. Do Liberals really think this kind of personal attack is acceptable in democratic debate? What would Dion say and do if Conservative MP said that Dion doesn't like gays?

Here is the Conservative response:
“Yasmin Ratansi’s statement at a Liberal rally today that the Prime Minister ‘does not really like women’ demonstrates just how desperate the Liberal Party has become during this election campaign. They will say anything to try to win votes.”

Tim Powers response:
Yesterday, Liberal MP Yasmin Ratansi's said at a Liberal rally that the Prime Minister, "does not really like women." Really? Other than desperation, on what exactly does Ms. Ratansi base that statement? Dion says he doesn't like the name calling and he is running a high-road campaign, yet he allows Ratansi to spew such nonsense.

Is this the leadership of Stephen Dion? Is it? Seems to me it is exactly the kind of smears and attack that we all predicted would come. Stephane Dion, this is not leadership, this is not respectful. And before you say anything, no, two wrongs DON'T make a right.

Harper please make Duceppe into "fresh meat"

Man o'man I cannot believe this election.

"Stephen Harper is calling on Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe to retract his remark that the Conservatives' youth-justice plan would provide "fresh meat" for older inmates."

How do these parties get awhile with saying this crap? Disgusting.

Duceppe has crossed the line and should apologize for this outlandish, silly and inappropriate remark. What's next, Duceppe will accuse Stephen Harper of canceling the youth inmate soap-on-the rope program?

Duceppe, show some class, apologize. Or, to hold you to the same standard as you and the MSM hold the Conservatives, you should step down as leader of the Bloc.

West's exposure "of a sexual nature"

As I reported here, the mainstream media seems to be finally catching up.
On Sunday, West admitted he went skinny dipping with teenagers at a 1996 environmental retreat, but insisted nothing inappropriate happened.

Innocent behaviour?

But that statement was contradicted by a retreat participant, who said the New Democrat had a partial erection in front of the young girls.

"We were doing face-painting and he decided he wanted to get his legs painted, and some of the girls were painting his legs, and he took off his underwear and he had a partial erection and said 'why stop there girls?''' said Leah Jones, during a phone interview with CTV.

A slightly different story, but also a different woman reporting recounting it then mentioned in the last story.

Why wasn't he charged? The police owe an explanation.

Skinny Dipper Resigns!

I had a really cheeky blog post all planned in my head. I mean skinny dipper, NDP, dipper I mean, it practically would have wrote itself. Instead I read about how accounts described the situation completely different then I had heard before.

When Googling for news stories to link to this post I came across the following:
A group of 12 young women have come forward to voice their side of the story involving former Saanich Gulf Islands NDP candidate Julian West's inappropriate behaviour 12 years ago.

"As witnesses to Mr. West's behaviour during this conference, we feel strongly that his actions were a far cry from 'a serious error in judgement.' In fact, Mr. West's behaviour was grossly inappropriate and of a sexual nature," the women said in a press release.

How did this escape the mainstream media's attention?

"We are speaking out as witnesses of the incident and participants of the youth-lead environmental conference, which took place in May 1996 in Cowichan Lake. Mr. West was invited to speak as the local Green Party representative at the conference. At one point during the conference he removed all of this clothing and stood naked, with an erection, in front of a large group of young women aged 14 to 17 years. The youth were face painting at the time and were completely clothed."

Well, I guess we know why he quit now.

And, bring Jack Layton's judgment into serious question:
The women decided to send out a letter to NDP leader Jack Layton last week outlining their concerns and were waiting to hear back from him when West's apology began appearing on television and newspapers. "The media was underplaying it; what happened was quite serious and the public should know," said Jessica.

Jack Layton stood by his candidate, and accused the opposition of digging up mud.

Disgusting. This brings Jack Layton's "leadership" into serious question. This also puts Ritz's and Finch's comments in perspective doesn't it?

Frank Valeriote, Tom King, Mike Nagy and Gloria Kovach denounce criminal damage to property: Joint Statement

GUELPH — August 29, 2008 - Frank Valeriote along with the other candidates in the Guelph by-election have unequivocally denounced the criminal damage that was done to at least ten homes and 6 vehicles in Guelph which had Frank Valeriote lawn signs in the early hours of Friday morning. They made their statements at the home of one of the victims this afternoon.

Families woke up in the early morning to see the brickwork of their houses spray painted with political graffiti as well as the brake lines to their automobiles cut.

This violence follows on the extensive damage to campaign signs that has been occurring to varying degrees to Liberal, Conservative, NDP, and Green signs throughout the by-election period.

“What happened in the early hours today is a despicable and cowardly act that endangered innocent people’s lives,” said Valeriote. “The cutting of the brake lines was intended to at the very least to severely injure people, who have chosen to participate in one of the most important processes this country has to offer to its citizens- they chose to exercise this right and have a political sign on their lawn. We live in a lawful and peaceful society where we have the freedom to express ourselves politically. No one should be subject to this kind of violence and intimidation,” Valeriote concluded.

Frank Valeriote and Tom King spent most of the day visiting and consoling the owners of the houses that have been criminally vandalized. “I join Frank Valeriote in condemning these vicious attacks in ourcommunity,” said Tom King. “The vandalism to political signs and the targeting of private homes and property must stop immediately. This kind of activity has nothing to do with the NDP or the Liberals. We’re sad to see politics take such an ugly turn. We hope the police will find the criminals responsible and prosecute them to the full extent of the law.”

“Greens totally disapprove of any acts of vandalism. Political motivated attacks on people’s homes and property insults the values that Canadians hold sacred regarding safe a free elections” said Mike Nagy.

Gloria Kovach agreed with all the candidates stating ” This is an escalation in behaviour and his kind of activity has no place in Guelph especially whe we all strive for free and fair process”.

All the candidates denounce the criminal violence, and give their sympathies to the victims whose private property was damaged.

What the Hell is going on in Guelph?

I a was shocked to hear about the wide spread vandalism going on in Guelph. Apparently the by-election in Guelph has gotten people all fired up. This is good, but NOT when it expressed with the destruction of private property and the cutting of brake lines.

I abhor this this display of criminality, the discourse of politics has no place for this. As if the destruction of campaign signs (of all parties) wasn't bad enough we now have this.

The cutting of break lines is a clear attempt at intimidating Liberal party supporters. That is unbelievably shocking!
